COA lends out mobility equipment at no cost to anyone in need of such equipment. You do not need to be a COA member. There is no time limit to borrowing the equipment. The equipment must be signed out by completing a brief form and questionnaire. We ask that equipment be returned clean and in good working order. If you have any questions or concerns regarding a piece of equipment please call COA at 526-6368.
We do request that you speak with your healthcare provider (physician, nurse, physical therapist, discharge personnel, etc.) about appropriate sizing and use of specific equipment before you come in. You can pick up COA's handy guide to mobility equipment at the Chapin Senior Center. It provides suggestions on what types of things to consider and the most appropriate questions to ask your healthcare provider. WE DO NOT MAKE MEDICAL RECOMMENDATIONS ON SIZE OR USE OF EQUIPMENT.
In fact, often times, based on our knowledge, we send folks back to their providers to ask questions and seek medical advice before we loan equipment. Please look at our FAQ page or the attached guide for more information.
